Hello, thank you for using Howly.
Have you tried to fixes to resolve your issue?
I've changed the batteries and I unplugged the unit from the TV.
I see.
Make sure to take both batteries completely out of the remote. With the batteries removed proceed to hold down the power button on the remote for 15 seconds. After the full 15 seconds are up, put the batteries back in the remote and try to turn on the TV.
It still does not work.
Do you know which model is your Roku TV and your remote?
Not off hand. I bought it from Walmart.
Do you still have the packaging?
No. do you have a list of the different Roko units . I might remember If I saw the names.
Depending on which Roku® streaming player or Roku TV™ you own, you will have one of two general types of remote: Roku simple remote. Roku voice remote.
I can use my voice with this one. Is there one that has the number 42 in it?
There are only 2 remotes currently, one with voice and one without voice. Thank you for clarifying that you have the voice one!
Always be sure you can see the front of your Roku device. When the device is powered on, you should see the status light on the front of the device.
Test your remote from various positions. Try holding your remote higher and pointing it downwards at the front of your Roku streaming device. Move the remote to the left and right, making sure it is always pointing directly at the front of your streaming device.
I would recommend you follow these steps to re-pair your voice remote to your streaming device
To put your streaming device in pairing mode:
ok.but it will take a few minutes as it's in another room.
Absolutely!
It still does not work and the light on the small unite that's plugged into the TV is like a pinkish blue.
Understood.
Put your voice remote in pairing mode:
What is the pairing button?
Please use this picture as a guide:
It still doesn't work. Doesn't the remote have a light at the end when you press the on button??
After you press and hold the pairing button on your voice remote for 20 seconds the status light should slowly flash green, stop, and then flash rapidly.
When this happens, release the pairing button and your remote will restart.
It never did that.
Could I ask you what you see instead?
Nothing, the unit at the TV and the remote did nothing!
I got you, Thank you for checking, *****!
Could I ask you to remove batteries from the remote and put them back after 30 sec and check it one more time?
ok
It still didn't work.
Could I ask you if you have other batteries to get it replace?
Yes, but I'll have to go get them.
That would be great! Thank you so much!
I changed the batteries the remote does not light up.
Could I ask you to try to press and hold the pairing button one more time?
The small light next to the pairing button lit up
Great! Please, try to follow the steps above to pair your remote with Roku TV
Yes, the TV finally came on. Was it the batteries that caused the hang up?
Yes, if you connect your remote after battery replacement, that it the issue, you are right!
Do you need to redo the pairing every time you replace the batteries?
No, you do not. But if you have an issue with pairing, you can just follow these steps one more time.
OK, Thanks for all of your help and patience with me.
