As you mentioned before - when I enter my details I am told that that account already exists. How do I transfer kindle account to the new machine?
I simply want to use the new machine and discard the old one, but I simply want to know how I delete the account from the old machine so that I can enter the details on the new one.

Yes
Firstly you need to Deregister Your Kindle E-Reader
- From the home screen, swipe down to open the Quick Actions or select Menu.
- Select Settings or All Settings.
- Go to Your/My Account and select Deregister/Deregister Device.
- If prompted, select Deregister again to confirm.
And after this try to sign in to your new device, please.
