I have a new Samsung S23 Ultra phone and the screen will not rotate from vertical to horizontal

Short summary:

  1. Swipe down on the screen to open the Quick panel.
  2. Look for the Auto rotate icon in the Quick panel. If the icon is blue, it means that Auto rotate is already enabled. If the icon is gray, it means that Auto rotate is disabled.
  3. Tap the Auto rotate icon to enable the feature. The icon should turn blue.
  4. Try rotating your phone now to check if the screen rotates from vertical to horizontal.
  5. If the screen does not rotate, try restarting your phone and then try again.

Hello, thank you for using Howly.
Let's make sure that Auto Rotate is on:

  1. Swipe down on the screen to open the Quick panel.
  2. A blue Auto rotate icon is displayed if Auto rotates is currently enabled. Conversely, if the Auto-rotate feature is currently disabled, a gray Portrait or Landscape mode icon is displayed.

Have you checked the settings on your individual apps? Some don't support auto-rotate.

Had the same issue on my S21 Ultra. It was just a setting I overlooked.
