Hello, thank you for using Howly.
The last iMacs with an internal optical drive were the 2011 models. You will need an external DVD drive. Apple still makes the olde USB SuperDrive but its compatibility with newer Macs is not clear based on reports here.
You have not answered my question. Try again.
Okay, can you tell me more about your Apple iMac? Do you have a CD/DVD reader?
I do not yet have an iMac. I'm probably going to buy a refurbished. Again, does the model Apple iMac 27 Core i7 3.5GHz 1TB HDD 8GB RAM MF125LL/A read CDs, DVDs and Blu ray from a standard external player?
This model doesn't have an internal optical drive, so without an external CD/DVD drive, this iMac doesn't read CDs, DVDs, and Bly ray from a standard player.
If I have an exernal CD/DVD drive, will this model also read Blu ray?
This depends on the capabilities of your external CD/DVD drive. It should be read Blu ray
Thank you.
Can you tell me the name and model of this external CD/DVD drive?
I have not yet bought one.
Got you
In this case, I would recommend that you check all the specifications of the external CD/DVD drive and see what discs it can read
Do you have any additional questions I can help you with, *****?
My concern was with the computer. If it could read Blu ray. You say it can. Next is shop for the proper player.
Got you
Thank you. Over and out.
